Imagine going through life feeling just like everyone else. The feeling of being just “another clover” in a field full of other clovers that are all the same.
But wait! Look over there! It is one of the elusive four leaf clovers. Oh, to be one of the “lucky” ones…..
Okay, snap back to reality!
It has never ceased to amaze me that people have the ability to accept their circumstances as their “lot in life” and just wish things had been different. Here’s a tip: Wishing doesn’t change a thing; ACTION does!
When I talk to people that have achieved success and ask them about the journey, they never seem to look back talk about how easy the road was. In fact, usually it is the exact opposite. Many of them risked it all (and often lost it all at one point or another). The difference was that they refused to accept the status quo!
This is where the rubber meets the road. “Reality check”, so to speak. The place you are at right now is your current state of reality. However, you truly want more out of your life. The question is, “do you want more badly enough to do something about it and take action?”
There is a ton of truth to the scripture that says to “write the vision and make it plain, that he may run who reads it” (Hab. 2:2) Write out your purpose, vision, and goals on a piece of paper. If you need to, hang it up somewhere so that you have to look at it every day! It will begin to get deep down into your soul and begin to drive a change in behavior and actions that you take in order to start making progress toward it.
If you need luck, go make your own! Luck always seems to find a way to meet people who are focused and taking action.
Along the way, remember to savor every step of the journey. Don’t focus so hard on a future event that you look back later and realize that you achieved success without ever enjoying it along the way!
